End of Summer

OK, I know it isn't officially the end of summer, that won't happen until the fall equinox in Sept. but with school starting again next week for lots of folks, including me I feel like it is the end of summer.

I am not sure if I have lost my mind or not, won't know for a couple weeks I guess, but here I am at my age going back to school to see if I have what it takes to change my career.

I have always loved graphic arts, since I was laid off at the end of July after working for my previous employer for 20 years (give or take a month) I decided the time had come to see if I could make a switch from computer support to graphic arts. I know it sounds like a huge jump, and I am not sure it is doable but I want to check it out. I get enough severance to be able to explore this for at least the next 3 months and see how it goes.

I am not totally without some art/graphic art experience, I have been a quilter for over 30 years, and I started drawing when quite young. Over the years I have had various art classes, including etching, drawing and working with clay, most were just fun courses to take, but some demanded a bit more from me. Anyway I have decided that now is the time before it is totally too late to explore my options in this area.

This blog is for me to document some of this adventure.
