Watercolor Swatches

I only recently started getting serious about Watercolor, still not very good, I don't paint enough but I have finally collected enough professional grade paints that I felt the need to paint some swatch sheets. This page is dedicated to the results.

My paints:

Winsor Newton: Brown Madder, Cad Orange, Cobalt Blue, French Ultramarine, Naples Yellow, Permanent Alizon Crimson, Permanent Magenta, Prussian Blue, Viridian (Green), Winsor Violet

Daniel Smith: Azo Yellow, Burnt Umber, Hansa Yellow Medium, Nickel Azo Yellow, Phthalo Green, Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Rose, Sap Green, Cobalt Turquoise

M Graham & Co.: Burnt Sienna, Turquoise, Quinacridone Red

I accidentally purchased two different Mfg's Turquoise, but they are such different colors that I may keep both on the pallet until I can determine which one I prefer. Note: that all my Winsor Newton paints are small tubes, and some of them will be replaced by Daniel Smith paints as I use what I have.

Swatches

I used 5 x 7 inch sheets of cold press watercolor paper

The first ones were done using all of my yellows with Greens and Blues

The next group is the yellow with reds

This group I started with the reds and mixed in Blues or Greens

The reds were more colorful to paint, though I didn't bother redoing the yellow/red mixes. I haven't done my Purple, or either Burnt Sienna or Burnt Umber. I may yet do all three, though I am feeling a bit swatched out at the moment. June 2016.
